MAX ENVIRONMENT

ENVIRONMENTS

I had a lot of fun experimenting with the environments to achieve the artistic vision that I initially imagined. I am very satisfied with the look that I was able to put together with 3ds Max.

 

Creating moving backgrounds was one aspect of the project that I hadn't exactly planned out, but turned out great. The backgrounds have no bearing on effectiveness of demoing game dynamics, and for that reason it was a joy to work on them as an open-ended aspect of the project.  I feel that they add a lot to the overall presentation of the game.

However, I do not feel completely successful in conveying the importance of environments in Unit. Everything a player does is linked to the environment in a way that directly effects the gameplay. I wish I could have done more to demonstrate this, but I shied away from it because of the complexity of animation (which I'll explain later).  I hope that viewers are able to see the potential based on what is there.
