About Me
My name is Trevor Karty, and I am a Senior in Eastern Michigan University's Simulation, Animation, and Gaming Program. I will be finishing up my Bachelor's Degree in the Spring of 2017. I also have two Associate's degrees from Washtenaw Community College. One degree is for Object Oriented Programming, and the other degree is for Industrial Automation (Mechatronics).

Some of my hobbies are skateboarding, making art, and browsing the internet. Creativity is key, but for me, projects are most interesting when there are thoughtful and technical aspects at the backbone. I've always loved and admired Mathematics as a means of understanding. My ambition is to make the study of Math a lifelong pursuit.

I also consider myself very conceptually innovative. Some of my ideas include (but are not limited to): mechanical inventions, clothing, software applications, and of course, games. I am eager to network with other skilled individuals who want to work together to bring all sorts of new things to life. For any potential investors out there, let's talk :)

About Unit
Unit was conceived as a game that I want to play. For me, gaming is most rewarding when it keeps you physically attentive but also mentally engaged.

The First Person gaming genre has always been a favorite of mine for it's inherent sense of immersion and intuitive control scheme. First Person games are very effective in helping players to build 3D spacial understanding and they also help to enhance response time. Playing these games against real human players deepens the challenge and fosters quick wits in the players who push to be the best.

However, there are overwhelming number of games with repetitive environments, gameplay, and violent themes. They've left me feeling frustrated and frankly, bored. I sincerely believe that Unit has the potential to bring together all the truly great elements of First Person action (and more), without all the cheap thrills.

Though this website only begins to outline how the game would/could work, my hope is that one day Unit will be brought to life, and people all over the world can enjoy and experience the vision.
